Udta Punjab Movie starring Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Alia Bhatt which is currently being shot in Amritsar city has been acquired by Balaji Motion Pictures. It was being produced under Phantom Films banner.

Balaji has bought the rights to this movie including satellite rights for a reported 50 crore.

This movie marks the Bollywood debut of Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh.
